Viva Las Vegassss

It's a almost yearly occasion that I end up in Vegas for my birthday.
I am lucky that I am only 5 hours away, so its a easy car trip.
This year we were reunited with 2 of our best friends that we haven't seen in 2 years, my birthday was the 23rd and hers the 24th. All the more reason to party :)

They spent one night with us before we hit the road, stayed at the fiance's uncles house, then hit the strip Friday morning starting with brunch at the Golden Nugget.

I bought a brand new Sony camera on Thursday, and swear I left the charger in the hotel room :( so here's the pictures from my iphone... waiting for a new charger/cord from amazon...

More to come once I get my camera cord...

NYC, the end of the trip

Took me long enough to get this up, we were celebrating my birthday in Vegas which I will recap in a few days.

Our 2nd day in NYC was a day of sight seeing. We slept in until 11, which was so nice in our king size bed at the Westin. We then headed out with our friend Brian on foot while the rest of the group went on a bus tour. We hit up Central Park, Carnegie Deli, Rockefeller Center and Grand Central Station.
It was still a little chilly out but much better than the day before.
Central Park is HUGE!
Famous Pastrami!

Empire State building, we went to the 102 floor!

Overall NYC was great, we had a good time even though it was a quick trip.

NYC, Part 1 of 2

We took a red eye from LAX to JFK Thursday night with about 10 of our friends. I was still not feeling well at this point so I was hoping to sleep on the plane. At one point I knew I was going to faint and sure enough I did. Got some orange juice and crackers and felt better after that.

We landed about 6:30am Friday morning, and it was cold!! Got a taxi and headed to Times Square. Unfortunately our room wasn't ready until we were leaving the hotel at 10:30 for the wedding. We all piled into taxi's and headed to the court house building. Pretty interesting how it works, but you literally grab a number and get in line to get married. There were hundreds of marriages that day.

We then had lunch and headed towards the 9-11 memorial site. This is a must do if you visit.

So incredible to see, yet still so sad. What an amazing thing they have built.
Here is one of the new towers.
Later that night, we boarded a boat cruise for dinner that the bride & groom treated everyone to.
The food was really good, the DJ really bad.
The best part of the night was stopping in front of the Statue of Liberty. GORGEOUS.

That's it for day 1.

I'm home!

We landed last night into LAX from JFK.
We had a great trip, was short but because I was sick it was the perfect amount of time.
I am blessed to have visited NYC, I was able to see all that I wanted to see.

Until I can blog the recap later...
-Taxi drivers are INSANE in NY!!
-Traveling in a group of 20 is not recommended...
-Planning and reserving space is recommended in terms of eating with that big of a group, otherwise you will eat at crappy places :(
-I didn't pack enough warm clothes
-Drinks & food are overall expensive! 18$ for ONE blue moon beer
-The Statue of Liberty is GORGEOUS
-It is very popular to get married in the court house (I'm talking hundreds in one day)
-Saw more domestic marriages then male/female ones
-People walk fast, very fast paced life
-Chase banks everywhere!
-St. Patty's day was insane, no idea where all those people came from!!
-NYPD is EVERYWHERE!! Cops on every corner.

Come back tomorrow for my Part 1 of 2 of NY :)

New York City

As I sit here fighting this nasty cold, I thought I would turn to you guys for advice on NYC!! We leave tomorrow for a friends wedding, so what is a must do while we are there?? Where should we eat??
This is our first trip there and we are so excited! I just hope to be better by tomorrow!
Until then, lots of cough drops and cough syrup.

Blissful Weekend

I came home Thursday evening to a surprise box from the fiances grandparents. I was so excited because grams always gets me the best stuff from Victoria Secret.

Inside was a cute pink silk romper, a black tank that says "I'm the bride", and a few other things.

Which reminds that my birthday is coming up in 11 days!!

The rest of the weekend was low key, spent time with my sister and yesterday I possibly found heels for the wedding. More to come on that later...

Found some cute OPI colors at Ulta, I always get sucked in buying more.
Sorry all my pictures are sideways!!

Happy Monday!
