Invitation DRAMA!!

So I went and ordered my invitations last week... I was so happy because I really liked them.
I was sitting at lunch on Wednesday telling the fiance and his mom about them, and then I mentioned the price... and he could barely lift his mouth off the table.
I paid $600 for 50 invitations... yes... that is 12 dollars for one...
WHAT THE HECK WAS I THINKING??

I stayed up Wednesday night crying my eyes out. I didn't know what to do. I really liked what I had ordered. But couldn't comprehend the $600 part....

I decided to send my MOH  in the next to try and cancel the order. I was relieved when she texted me saying she got my money back, but sad because I really liked the ones I had picked.

So here we are again, on the hunt for new ones... I have found 2 that I like... both in the $250 range.
Here is what the cancelled order looked like...

Happy Friday to all of you!
I am stuck working all weekend :(

oh my word those are amazing, but the price was INSANE. I know you will find ones that are just as good for a MUCH more reasonable price! Good luck!! :)

did you think of doing them yourself? you can order the pockets from cards and pockets..then have the printing done through vistaprint or catprint...then all you need is a little glue and maybe a ribbon and itll be the same idea as the expensive ones..except for only like 30$...thats what im going to do for mine! best wishes! :)

We had ours custom made for us and they were around $400 and we ordered 100. And I ordered the pocket part from www.cardsandpockets.com. I ran into the same issue of not finding what I wanted, so that is why we went the direction that we did. I hope you find some that you like!

So frustrating! You'll find something. Have you considered designing something yourself and having a local place do them?

$12 a piece is way too much!

Those are certainly lovely but $600 is a lot! I paid around $250 for 150 invitations! And I still think that's a lot as people are just going to throw them away! You'll find ones that you love just as much I'm sure!

You should look for Groupons and stuff...you could probably get ones like these for 50% off through those sites!!

I ordered mine from weddingpaperdivas.com and I paid like $150 for 100 of them, plus my save-the-dates. They have a wide range of prices and styles, so I recommend them.

Our invitations were way expensive. I had hired an illustrator to design them and just that cost $500. I wanted them so badly I cut cost in lots of places to get them. Most flowers... It was an outdoor venue. My whole point is you'll end up with ones you love :)

Isn't it crazy how much they can cost!? What we started doing was cutting cost once we found the ones that we liked... ie. no rounded corners, no folder to put them in {we decided to tie them together ourselves instead}, 1ply verses 2ply, one color on some of the inserts etc. So if there is one that you are absolutely in love with then see what you can cut out to make it cheaper. Hopefully this will help some but I can totally relate to the stress :/. And I try to keep reminding myself that it's not all about the day rather the marriage.

Let us know how it turns out :)

That is a lot of money, but you LOVE them and can't find another option, maybe the splurge is worth it? I was going to suggest semi DIY-ing them...but not sure if you like that kind of thing.

While I do think those look amazing, I feel that's WAY overpriced! Have you tried looking on zazzle or even etsy? you can get some really great ones for half the price on there.

awe! Omg that is a crazy amount to spend on invites. I designed mine myself, and spent about a dollar a piece on them. I got a custom made "send-and-seal" invite that worked perfectly! Maybe do some research into them or different options. I'm sure you will find something gorgeous and more affordable soon!

those are very pretty but definitely overpriced! we ordered ours from wedding paper divas... and they were not as formal as yours, but it may be worth looking... http://www.weddingpaperdivas.com/

Yes that is definitely a lot for invitations. We had ones custom made on etsy for a lot cheaper and they were beautiful. You will find some just as gorgeous yet a little bit more in the right price range.
