Ornaments & Frappy

I had a really great weekend doing a bunch of different things! I was able to go to bed early two nights because the bf was working and I got a lot ready for my cookie party this coming Friday.

Saturday night I went to the local harbor and watched the parade of lights and then watched the UFC fights. Any of you into UFC? I just don't understand why they enjoy beating each other up but I kinda watched with one eye.

Yesterday we drove to one of the better malls and got a few ornaments. I only have a picture of one but here it is,

We also enjoyed a bagel and Starbucks in the 80 degree weather, it was perfect.

And lastly, I tried to wrap presents but Frappy wasn't really having it...

I am so happy its Friday... although I keep looking at the clock and it seems to be barely moving... I came in early so that I could leave an hour early... come on 4pm!!

Last night we had dinner with two other couples who are pretty much our best friends as a couple. Then I came home and watched Oprah... and my heart is still hurting from watching. Did any of you girls watch it?

It was about the Petit Family in CT, the father was the only survivor. I can only hope that man finds happiness one day. I do not know how you carry on after losing everything you had. Here is an article that tells their story.

Jenn over at Westsachoney makes the cutest custom onsies and I knew I had to have one for my goddaughter that will soon be making her debut in this world. Jenn was super fast and I just love how it turned out.

Favorite Xmas Item

I enjoyed a quiet night in last night and turned the lights on the tree and just enjoyed the atmosphere in my living room. I realized my most favorite item: the stocking my mom made for me. Now that she is gone, its the only thing I really have from her. It is my most prized possession and I will never take my eyes off it.

Finally!

I got the iphone 4! Radio Shack is having this awesome deal when you trade in an older iphone you get money off the iphone 4. Since I had the 3g before, I got $75 dollars off making my total $117. Can't beat that!  I didn't really need a new phone, but the price was great and there are some features I didn't have before. The camera takes such clear pictures, I can now face time when the boy and I are apart, and can even take little videos.

I also saw the movie Burlesque this weekend. I thought it was really good! I have never been a huge Christian Aguilar fan but she has an amazing voice! The movie line reminded me of Coyote Ugly but I still really enjoyed it.

I also just got a call from the Sheriffs department saying they are moving forward with my background and scheduled my polygraph for next week! I am so excited/nervous!! I want this job so bad!!

Lastly, here is a new vase I picked up at TJ Max.

Jury Duty

I feel like I have been away from blogging for quite some time! I had jury duty on Wednesday and I was kinda hoping to get put on a case, but kinda not because I don't have anyone trained at work that can do my job. Right at 9am, they started calling names left and right. I guess it was a busy day because there were 124 trials for the day. After the morning break, the lady said she had some bad news.... That a court 45 minutes away needed a panel. I wasn't really paying attention but heard my name and thought no way! But sure enough, I had to drive out there and eventually was picked to be a juror. The trial started yesterday morning and it was over a civil issue. One lady had loaned her brother and his wife $80 thousand dollars and was never paid back the full amount. Long story short, it seemed like both women were lying and our job was to decide who was telling more of the truth. Yesterday we were given a 2 and a half hour lunch and when we got back, we were told both parties had settled over lunch. So that's that... I am happy that we didn't have to decide something that would ultimately affect one of them.... but I would have liked to know what they decided.

So I am back at work... I would have liked to be out one more day :)

This morning I had my interview with my background investigator. I thought it went well... they even asked for my email and password to my facebook... crazy right??

The sucky part is that I am a alternate... I need someone to get disqualified or drop out somehow in order to be one of the four they are going to hire...

I have to hope it will all work out the way its supposed to...
